Course: EB057 Operations and Preventative Maintenance for LEVEL 1 Edgebanders
This course is designed to help attendees embrace the automatic features of their Level 1 edgebanding machine and learn the skills needed to unveil its full array of capabilities. Instruction begins with an introduction to the edgebanding industry. This overview details the characteristics of various panel, edge, and adhesive materials, reviews machine terminology, identifies proper tooling use and care, and outlines safety procedures, all designed to orient new and experienced employees alike. Participants will then navigate through the machine’s stations and processing units, learning the purposes and functionalities of each, and how to efficiently set-up, program, and operate the machine from the powerTouch controller interface. This navigation will include hands-on instruction of how to make specific unit adjustments for desired and consistent part quality, how to interpret indicator lights to troubleshoot the machine’s mechanical and pneumatic systems, and how to administer preventative maintenance for extended machine life. Additional instruction includes an exploration of the machine’s electrical cabinet and review the machine’s electronic manual to access drawings, view 3D part renderings, and create a spare parts inventory.
