Splicing
Veneer splicing is the second step in the veneer process. Blending multiple pieces of veneer to create a single sheet requires two processes, splicing/jointing and gluing. Stiles represents KUPER® machinery for veneer splicing and jointing: longitudinal feed offer you the greatest versatility and handle the widest variety of veneer sheet types; cross feed may be your best choice for high quantity production.
There are several ways of matching two or more pieces of veneer together in a way that is not noticeable, including butt jointing, finger jointing, and zigzag. Each type of joint is specific to your strength, material, and aesthetic requirements, and each type may call for a different glue. The KUPER FL/Innovation Series features Glue-on-the-fly application, with a built in glue application system. Once the veneer is spliced it can moved to the substrate for gluing.
