The Ligmatech MDE 160 case clamp is an electric throughfeed case clamp.  It can be used either as part of an assembly line or as a stand alone unit.  It is capable of processing a series of the same cabinet or different types or sizes of cabinets one after the other.

Photo-eyes on the case clamp sense the height and length of the cabinet at the infeed of the machine.  When the cabinet is at the center of the clamp, the upper pressure beam and the lateral pressure pads clamp the cabinet.  The position of the center and bottom pressure pad is programmable.

The upper pressure beam and the lateral pressure pads are driven electrically using servo drives which allows them to be adjusted separately.  The cases are conveyed through the case clamp at the zero line.  Due to the MDE 160’s open design and the cases being positioned at the belt’s outer edge, it is possible to add an automatic stapler in front of the clamp or to have the operator perform functions to the cabinets as they are being clamped.

The machine also includes a nailing robot for automatically attaching the back of the cabinet while being clamped.
