Weeke Vantech Contest Details

1. The Video

Create a 1-5 minute video about why your shop wants or deserves the use of a Weeke Vantech CNC router for a year. We’re looking for creativity! Just remember to keep it clean. 

Upload the video to YouTube. Then send a link to your video to Stiles Machinery .

A few items to make sure you’re eligible to win:

• You must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old.
• You must have a viable, operating business in the U.S. and a legitimate business need for a CNC router.
• You cannot be an employed by Stiles, our contest sponsors and/or supplier, or affiliated with a direct competitor of Stiles Machinery.
• All videos must be posted on or before October 15, 2010.
• The Weeke Vantech CNC router must be your company’s first CNC router.

2. The Commentary

After you submit a video link to Stiles, we will e-mail you a survey to you to gather additional information about your company as well as your thoughts about your hopes and dreams for your business, and how you think the router will improve your business. We’re looking for your game plan of how you’ll make good use of the Weeke Vantech, should you be the chosen winner.

The e-mail survey and commentary will request:

• your direct business contact information. This information will be shared with our program sponsors.
• your commentary will not be shared. This information is for Stiles to review as criteria we use to choose the winner

3. Voting

So now, you need to spread word that your video is posted so you can rack up some votes.  Twitter it, Facebook it…whatever. Send your colleagues to the video on YouTube to cast a vote (Like it) for your outstanding video. Voting is open until November 5, 2010. Individuals can vote for as many of the videos as they want, but only vote for a specific video one time. As of November 5, 2010, the Top 10 videos, as voted by our viewers, will become our semi-finalists.

A few items about the voting:

• You can vote one time for as many of the videos as you want.
• The semi-finalists, or Top 10, will be notified about their newly gained status via phone or e-mail by November 10, 2010.
• The Top 10 will receive consolation prizes and coupons valued at over $250 and a price discount on a Weeke Vantech router.
• The Runner Up will receive prizes and coupons valued at over $500.

4. Winning

One of our company representatives will be in contact with the top ten finalists to ask some more questions, and maybe even pay you a visit.  We’ll have a hard decision to make, and this will be your chance to shine.  We’ll base our decision by November 29, 2010 based on:

1. the creativity of your video and message about why you want or deserve the machine.
2. your written commentary letting us know you have great plans for using the machine.
3. our company representative’s report after your phone or personal interview.

A few items about winning:

• In addition to the Weeke Vantech 480, you also get a video camera to keep your video diaries over the course of the year.
• Some of our contest sponsors will provide you their materials or products free to make sure you get started properly with the new machine.
• You must be ready to accomodate the machine within a month of winning.
• Additional paperwork and guidelines will be required to accept the machine.
• To assure successful operation of the machine, an appropriate location is required to place the machine than can support its size and mechanical requirements. The router t will be delivered on a flatbed truck.
• Stiles will cover the shipping/delivery costs to get the machine to your shop, installed, and instruction on using the machine.

5. The Experience

So now you’ve won the best prize of your life! You don’t get to win the CNC router for a year and disappear…you have some responsibilities. You need to help your peers. We want you to use your wonderful new video camera and chronicle your story for a year so your peers can experience your new router with you. We want to see how your business changes with this new technology…your challenges, your successes. You’ll need to upload your videos and blogs on-line quite a bit in the beginning, and then at least monthly after the first six months. 

A few items about the experience...

• We’ll provide you with a list of “must have” videos/blog materials, but most of the topics will be provided by you.
• You cannot damage the machine and must provide proper insurance for it.
• You will have some expenses, but they depend on what your shop needs to be ready to run the CNC router. Stiles will help you plan for these costs.
• After the your free year of equipment use, you can purchase the machine. Stiles will work with you to structure a deal you won't want to miss.
