Climate Technologies initially developed the Fumes-to-Fuel VOC abatement system for the Ford Motor Company and Detroit Edison to reduce natural gas costs while generating electricity. The two-stage Fumes-to-Fuel VOC abatement system is capable of reducing thermal energy consumption by 80 percent, generating usable electricity, and reducing VOC emissions as much as 50 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90 percent. The Fumes-to-Fuel system was awarded a Clean Air Excellence Award by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and was recognized as a winner of the Challengers Distinguished Achievement Awards for technology innovation at the IWF Fair in Atlanta in 2006.
