We have a problem in our shop with saw operators calibrating the saw axes incorrectly. Is there a way to password protect that feature?
Accurate calibration of the saw axes is critical for proper part dimensioning. Unauthorized or accidental calibration can be a problem. Therefore, it is possible to activate a software key so that a four-digit password code must be entered to access the axis calibration mode on saws manufactured in 2001 and later. Follow this procedure to activate or deactivate the software key. a. Activate the software key. Press button for menu. Select Basic Settings. Select Service Level, then enter password 8809 and confirm by Enter. b. For each calibration process (i.e. each time the CAL button has been pressed for 2 seconds) the 4-digit code 2143 has to be entered in order to allow calibration. c. To deactivate the software key: Press button for menu. Select Basic Settings. Select Service Level, then enter password 8809 and confirm by Enter.
