Utilizing positive pressure, this is a common system that pulls the dust and waste material through the ducting with a large fan. The waste actually passes through the fan into the collector system.

A more unique system where the fan is on the opposite side of the collector, using "negative" pressure, and the vacuum runs through the entire collector as well as the dust system. The waste does not pass through the fan. Many states like California, for example, may require or recommend the negative systems since it is safer.
